When a commercial truck breaks down, PTI can dispatch mobile service to diagnose and repair qualifying problems at the truck's location when conditions permit.
PTI is not primarily a roadside company. Most of our work is scheduled mobile fleet maintenance and repair — roadside is one part of a full mobile service business.
Hours & rates
Availability And After-Hours Billing
Roadside hours: 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday.
After-hours labor between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM is billed at time and a half.
PTI confirms applicable service-call and travel charges before dispatch. Calling does not guarantee immediate dispatch or a specific arrival time.
Call with the unit, the exact location, and what the truck is doing. PTI will tell you honestly whether the problem is something that can be handled at the truck and what it will take to get someone moving.
Honest limitations
What Roadside Service Depends On
Roadside repair is not unlimited. Whether PTI can complete a repair at your location depends on all of the following.
- Safe access is requiredPTI must be able to reach and work on the truck safely. Some highway shoulders, travel lanes, restricted properties, and unsafe locations cannot be worked.
- The location mattersDistance, site access, lighting, weather, and available space all affect whether a repair can be completed on location.
- The repair has to be field-repairableSome failures require equipment and conditions that cannot be reproduced at a breakdown location. PTI will tell you honestly when that is the case.
- Parts availabilityOn-location repair depends on the required parts being on the service truck or obtainable from a local supplier at the time of the call.
PTI is an independent mobile repair company and does not perform towing. If a unit is not field-repairable, PTI will tell you what the unit needs so you can arrange the right next step.

Problems Often Handled At The Truck
TIRE FAILURE
Steer, drive, and trailer tire replacement or qualifying flat repair at the truck's location, with documented retorque follow-up.
ELECTRICAL & NO-START
Batteries, cables, starting and charging faults, lighting and circuit failures, and computer fault-code diagnosis.
AIR SYSTEM & BRAKE FAULTS
Air leaks, lines and fittings, valves, chambers, and slack adjuster problems where safe access allows.
ENGINE COMPLAINTS
Derates, warning lamps, coolant and oil leaks, belts and hoses, and fuel or air system faults diagnosed on location.
WHEEL-END ISSUES
Wheel seal, hub, and bearing complaints evaluated at the truck to determine whether it can move safely.
DRIVELINE COMPLAINTS
Clutch, linkage, and driveline symptoms diagnosed on location, with field-repairable work performed on site.

Service is performed wherever your equipment is located — fleet yards, terminals, distribution and warehouse lots, jobsites, truck parking, and breakdown locations. Travel outside the immediate Raleigh area is handled case by case based on the work required and technician availability.
