What Each Service Covers
Diesel engine repair & diagnostics
No-start and hard-start conditions, power loss and derates, coolant and oil leaks, fuel system and air intake faults, belts, hoses, water pumps, thermostats, air compressors, turbo-related complaints, and aftertreatment fault codes. Heavy internal engine work that cannot be completed safely or correctly on location is identified up front so you can plan the unit's downtime.
Electrical & computer diagnostics
Batteries, cables, starters, alternators, charging and starting system testing, lighting and trailer circuits, sensor and wiring faults, corrosion repair, and computer fault-code diagnosis. PTI tests before replacing parts so you are not paying to guess.
Air brake systems
Brake chambers, valves, slack adjusters, air lines and fittings, air leaks, drums, shoes, s-cams, pushrod travel, air dryers, and governor faults. Brake work is documented and inspected before the unit returns to service.
Wheel-end & suspension
Hubs, bearings, wheel seals, studs and lug nuts, leaf and air springs, shocks, air bags, torque rods, and bushings. When a wheel is removed or installed, the required retorque follow-up is documented — see the Wheel & Lug Nut Retorque Notice.
Preventive maintenance & DOT annual inspections
PM A/B/C-style service intervals, DOT annual inspections, oil and filter service, fuel and air filters, gear lube, greasing, coolant testing, and a written inspection with photos for each unit. Recurring fleet schedules are available.
Commercial tire service
Steer, drive, and trailer tire replacement, flat repair, valve stems, air pressure checks, and mounted-wheel installation at your location. See commercial tires for details.
Drivetrain
Clutch adjustment and replacement, transmission leaks and linkage, driveshafts, u-joints, carrier bearings, hangers, and differential-related complaints. Field-repairable drivetrain work is performed on location; anything requiring a lift and full teardown is identified before you commit.
Scope & limits
What Mobile Service Can And Cannot Cover
PTI is a mobile provider and is straightforward about the limits of on-location work. That honesty is part of the service.
- Some repairs are not field-repairableWork that requires a lift, a press, heavy specialty equipment, or controlled conditions cannot be completed on location. PTI will say so instead of starting a job it cannot finish.
- Access and safety come firstPTI must be able to reach and work on the unit safely. Restricted sites, live travel lanes, and unsafe ground can prevent service.
- Parts availability affects the outcomeOn-location repair depends on parts being on the service truck or available locally at the time of the call.
- Straight answers on scopeIf a unit needs work that falls outside what PTI performs mobile, PTI will tell you what the truck needs rather than sell you something else.
PTI confirms applicable service-call and travel charges before dispatch. A service request does not guarantee immediate dispatch or a specific arrival time.
How a mobile service call works
Paperwork Handled From Your Phone
Every step of a PTI service call is documented and sent to you directly, so approvals never hold up a truck.
1. You call or send a request
Tell PTI the unit, the location, and the problem. PTI confirms availability and applicable service-call and travel charges before dispatch.
2. PTI comes to the truck
A service truck is dispatched to your fleet yard, terminal, jobsite, parking location, or breakdown location with tools and common parts.
3. You approve by text or email
You receive a direct link to the estimate and repair authorization and approve it from a phone. Additional repairs discovered mid-job require separate approval before the work continues.
4. Documented and invoiced
Work is documented with photos and kept as per-unit repair history. Digital invoices can be paid online by card. Wheel retorque follow-up is documented when a wheel is removed or installed.
