Terms of Service
Last updated: August 23, 2026 · Version 2026-08-23.2
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by PTI Truck Repair LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a limited liability company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. By requesting service, receiving an estimate, or paying an invoice, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services provided
PTI Truck Repair LLC is a mobile heavy-duty truck repair and fleet service provider. We perform repair, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, commercial tire service, and roadside service at your yard, terminal, jobsite, parking location, or breakdown location. We do not operate a customer-facing repair facility and do not accept vehicles for drop-off. All work is performed by trained technicians using industry-standard practices.
Some repairs cannot be performed safely or correctly in the field. Where a repair requires facility-based equipment, we will tell you, and arranging towing or transport remains your responsibility.
2. Estimates and authorization
Any estimate we provide is based on our best assessment of the condition of your vehicle at the time of inspection. Actual repair cost may vary if additional issues are found during service. We will not perform additional work exceeding the estimate without your written or verbal authorization.
3. Payment terms
- Invoices are due upon completion of service unless a written net-terms agreement is on file.
- We accept debit and credit cards, ACH transfer, business check, and cash.
- Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing surcharge. Debit and prepaid cards are not surcharged.
- Late invoices may accrue interest of 1.5% per month (18% APR) or the maximum allowed by North Carolina law.
- Returned checks are subject to a $35 processing fee.
4. Warranty
PTI's labor is covered by a limited workmanship warranty of 90 days or 10,000 miles from the invoice date, whichever occurs first. Parts carry only the applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty. Customer-supplied parts, used/remanufactured components, diagnostic time, and consequential losses are subject to important exclusions and limitations. The full policy governs any warranty claim — see our Limited Warranty & Refund Policy.
5. Mobile service charges
- A service-call or dispatch charge may apply to each visit. We confirm applicable service-call and travel charges before dispatch when required.
- Travel and mileage may be charged based on distance, drive time, or both. Travel is not free unless we state in writing that it is included.
- Waiting time may be charged at the applicable labor rate where a technician has arrived and cannot begin or continue work for reasons outside our control — including gate access, site check-in, locating the unit, or the vehicle not being ready.
- Time and mileage spent obtaining parts may be charged where disclosed on the estimate, work order, or invoice.
- Roadside service is available 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday. Work performed between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM may be billed at a premium labor rate.
- Dispatch, travel, mileage, diagnostic, waiting time, and labor charges remain payable for services performed even where the vehicle cannot be repaired at its location.
- A return service call is not automatically free merely because we previously serviced the vehicle. A return visit is provided at no charge only where it is covered under our Limited Warranty & Refund Policy or where we expressly agree in writing.
- Submitting a service request does not guarantee dispatch or a specific arrival time. Dispatch is confirmed by PTI.
Full mobile and roadside terms, including safe working location and site authorization, are set out in our Repair Authorization & Terms.
6. Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the vehicle's history and current issues, and identify the correct unit.
- Make the vehicle accessible to a mobile service vehicle, with reasonable clearance to work around the unit, and provide keys, access codes, gate access, and any required site credentials.
- Ensure the work location is safe and lawful to work in. We may decline or stop work at a location we reasonably determine to be unsafe.
- Confirm you own or control the work location, or have obtained permission for us to enter it, and that you have authority to authorize work on the vehicle.
- Secure personal items, valuables, and cargo. We are not responsible for personal property in or on vehicles.
- Where a wheel is removed or installed, ensure the required wheel fastener inspection and torque recheck is completed after 50–100 miles of operation. See our Wheel & Lug Nut Retorque Notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by North Carolina law, our liability for any claim arising out of services performed is limited to the amount paid for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, downtime, or towing costs beyond direct service performed.
8. Custody of vehicles and property
Because we perform work at your location, we do not ordinarily take possession of your vehicle. This Section applies only in the limited circumstances where we do take temporary possession of a vehicle, trailer, or component — for example where a component is removed for off-site machining or repair, or where a unit is moved with your authorization.
Where we hold such property, you must arrange collection promptly after we notify you that it is ready. Where it is not collected within a reasonable period, storage charges may apply at the rate we disclose to you before charges begin, subject to applicable law. Property that is not reclaimed may be handled according to applicable North Carolina law, including the abandonment and lien procedures available under North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 20 and Chapter 44A, and the required legal procedures must be followed before we sell or dispose of it.
9. Right to refuse service
We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer for any lawful reason, including but not limited to safety concerns, unpaid prior balances, or requests to perform work we believe is unsafe or contrary to manufacturer specifications.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the services provided will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at ptitruckrepair.com/terms. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
