Limited Warranty & Refund Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026 · Version 2026-08-23.2
PTI Truck Repair LLC (“PTI”) provides repair, diagnostic, maintenance, roadside, and mobile repair services for commercial trucks and related equipment. The following terms apply to services and parts provided by PTI unless different terms are stated in writing on the customer's work order or invoice.
1. Limited Workmanship Warranty
PTI warrants its labor against verified defects in PTI's workmanship for 90 days or 10,000 miles from the date of the original invoice, whichever occurs first.
- This warranty applies only to the specific repair performed by PTI and specifically identified on the original invoice.
- If PTI determines that a failure was directly caused by defective PTI workmanship during the applicable warranty period, PTI's sole obligation will be, at PTI's option, to correct or re-perform the defective workmanship.
- A recurrence of the same symptom, warning light, fault code, noise, leak, drivability complaint, or other condition does not automatically establish that PTI's previous repair was defective or covered by warranty.
- PTI must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and diagnose the vehicle or equipment before any warranty determination is made.
2. Parts Warranty
- Parts supplied by PTI are covered only by the warranty, if any, provided by the applicable manufacturer, distributor, or supplier.
- PTI does not independently warrant a part against manufacturing defects unless expressly stated in writing.
- A manufacturer's or supplier's replacement of a defective part does not automatically include PTI's labor to diagnose, remove, reinstall, program, calibrate, transport, or otherwise service that part.
- Unless the applicable manufacturer or supplier reimburses PTI for such charges, or PTI expressly agrees otherwise in writing, the customer remains responsible for associated labor, diagnostic time, service calls, travel, towing, fluids, shop supplies, programming, freight, and other related charges.
- Manufacturer and supplier warranty determinations are subject to their respective warranty procedures and approval.
3. Customer-Supplied Parts
- PTI provides no warranty on customer-supplied parts.
- Unless PTI expressly agrees otherwise in writing, labor associated with the diagnosis, removal, replacement, or reinstallation of a failed customer-supplied part is the customer's responsibility.
- PTI is not responsible for delays, incompatibility, incorrect fitment, premature failure, consequential damage, or additional labor resulting from customer-supplied parts.
4. Used, Remanufactured and Aftermarket Parts
- Used, rebuilt, remanufactured, aftermarket, salvage, or similar components are subject only to the warranty provided by their respective supplier or manufacturer, if any.
- PTI makes no additional warranty regarding the expected service life of such components.
5. Diagnostics
- Vehicle and equipment diagnostics involve testing and professional judgment based upon the symptoms and conditions present at the time of inspection.
- Diagnostic services are not a guarantee that every existing or future problem will be identified.
- Multiple failures can produce the same symptoms or diagnostic trouble codes. Repairing one verified problem does not guarantee that another component will not subsequently cause the same or similar symptom.
- Diagnostic time is payable regardless of whether the customer authorizes the recommended repair.
- Intermittent conditions that cannot be duplicated during PTI's inspection may require additional diagnostic time and are not considered evidence of defective workmanship.
6. Warranty Exclusions
PTI's warranty does not cover failures, damage, or additional repairs caused by or related to:
- Normal wear and deterioration.
- Failure of a component not repaired or replaced by PTI.
- Pre-existing mechanical, electrical, structural, hydraulic, emissions, or other conditions.
- Customer-supplied parts.
- Defective replacement parts where PTI's workmanship was not the cause of failure.
- Used, rebuilt, remanufactured, aftermarket, or salvage components beyond their applicable supplier warranty.
- Accident, collision, abuse, misuse, overloading, neglect, improper operation, or lack of maintenance.
- Continued operation after a warning light, low-fluid condition, overheating condition, abnormal noise, loss of oil pressure, loss of coolant, or other indication of malfunction.
- Contaminated or incorrect fuel, DEF, oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, or other fluids.
- Unauthorized modifications, tuning, programming, emissions modifications, electrical modifications, or aftermarket equipment.
- Repairs, adjustments, disassembly, programming, or modifications performed by another repair facility or person after PTI's repair when such work affects the claimed failure.
- Failure to follow PTI's recommendations or the vehicle/equipment manufacturer's maintenance or operating requirements.
- Damage resulting from another component's failure.
- Conditions that could not reasonably have been identified during the authorized repair.
- Commercial use, operating conditions, environmental conditions, or other circumstances outside PTI's reasonable control.
7. Warranty Claim Procedure
- The customer must notify PTI promptly after discovering a condition believed to be covered by warranty.
- PTI must be given the first reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle or equipment and determine whether the condition is covered.
- The customer may not authorize another repair facility to perform warranty-related repairs and then demand reimbursement from PTI without PTI's prior written authorization.
- Repairs performed by another facility without PTI's prior authorization may void warranty coverage for the affected repair.
- PTI does not guarantee reimbursement for towing, roadside assistance, repairs performed by another facility, travel, lodging, rental vehicles, replacement equipment, or similar expenses.
- Where PTI performs covered warranty work, PTI will perform it as a mobile service visit at the vehicle's location where that is practical. PTI will not charge for covered warranty labor. Whether a service-call, travel, or mileage charge applies to a warranty visit depends on the circumstances and is confirmed before dispatch.
- Where PTI inspects a reported condition and determines it is not covered by warranty, applicable service-call, travel, mileage, diagnostic, and labor charges are payable. A return service call is not automatically free merely because PTI previously serviced the vehicle.
8. No Guarantee of Completion Time
- Any estimated completion date or time provided by PTI is an estimate only.
- Repair times may change because of parts availability, additional defects discovered during repair, manufacturer or supplier delays, diagnostic complexity, weather, staffing, customer authorization delays, or other circumstances outside PTI's reasonable control.
- PTI does not guarantee that a vehicle or piece of equipment will be returned to service by a particular date or time unless PTI expressly agrees to such a guarantee in writing.
9. Commercial Downtime and Consequential Losses
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PTI is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from a vehicle or equipment failure, repair, delay, or period of downtime. This includes, without limitation:
- Lost loads or freight.
- Lost revenue or profits.
- Loss of use.
- Driver wages or detention.
- Missed appointments or deliveries.
- Contract penalties.
- Rental or replacement vehicle costs.
- Towing charges.
- Lodging or transportation expenses.
- Business interruption.
- Customer claims against the vehicle owner.
- Other commercial or economic losses.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PTI's liability arising from a particular repair or service shall not exceed the amount actually paid to PTI for the specific repair or service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or limit liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
11. Completed Labor and Refunds
- Labor represents services already performed and cannot be returned. Accordingly, completed labor charges are non-refundable, except where PTI determines that a billing error occurred or otherwise elects to provide a credit.
- A billing or service-scope concern should be reported to PTI within 7 days of the invoice date.
- This seven-day reporting period for billing disputes does not shorten an otherwise applicable workmanship warranty.
- When PTI determines that a workmanship warranty claim is valid, PTI may correct the workmanship rather than issue a cash refund.
12. Parts Returns
- Parts that have been installed, used, electrically connected, programmed, painted, modified, or specially ordered are generally non-returnable.
- Unused and uninstalled parts may be eligible for return only with PTI's approval and are subject to the applicable manufacturer's or supplier's return policy.
- Restocking fees, freight, shipping, handling, and other supplier charges may be deducted from any approved refund.
- Electrical and electronic components, special-order components, programmed components, and opened sealed components may be non-returnable.
13. Roadside and Mobile Service
- Roadside and mobile repair services involve conditions that may be outside PTI's control.
- Service-call, dispatch, travel, mileage, diagnostic, and labor charges remain payable for services performed even if the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside or additional repairs are subsequently required.
- A roadside repair is not a guarantee that the vehicle has no additional mechanical problems or that it will continue operating for any specific period.
14. Cancellations
- A scheduled mobile service visit may be canceled or rescheduled without charge when reasonable advance notice is provided and a technician has not yet been dispatched.
- Once a technician has been dispatched for mobile or roadside service, applicable dispatch, travel, mileage, and service-call charges may be due even if the customer cancels the service or the vehicle is no longer at the requested location.
15. Payment Disputes
- Customers should contact PTI promptly regarding billing questions or suspected billing errors.
- Initiating a payment dispute or chargeback does not eliminate the customer's responsibility for legitimate authorized charges.
- Unpaid authorized repair, service, towing, storage, parts, or other charges may be subject to PTI's contractual, collection, and lien rights available under applicable North Carolina law.
16. No Other Warranties
Except for the limited workmanship warranty expressly stated above and to the extent permitted by applicable law, PTI makes no additional express or implied warranties regarding services or the future operation, reliability, or condition of the customer's vehicle or equipment.
No employee, technician, or representative of PTI may expand this warranty unless the modification is made in writing and authorized by PTI Truck Repair LLC.
